My quest for wisdom is crystal clear …

“WISDOM is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it” – Albert Einstein A LOT of the learning in my life has been about gaining knowledge, but I now understand the most important part of learning is having the wisdom to use the acquired knowledge and skills to serve their best purpose. I realise too that while knowledge can help you to make a living, it is wisdom that helps you make your life.
In my quest for knowledge on complementary therapies, I have been researching crystal healing. The oldest legend goes back to the ancient times of Atlantis. It is said that the people of Atlantis were highly evolved and used crystals to channel and release cosmic forces. Historically, the first reference to the use of crystals comes from Sumaria and the ancient Egyptians.
The Egyptians used various crystals, including quartz, and beads of lapis lazuli, malachite and red jasper were worn around a sick person’s neck to enable the disease to pass through them. The word “crystal” comes from the Greek word for ice, as it was believed that clear quartz was water that had frozen so deeply that it would always remain solid. The aim of practitioners offering this type of holistic complementary therapy today is to provide clients with a gentle, non-invasive form of alternative healing that aims to work to harmonise the mind, body, emotions and spirit. It has certainly helped me as part of my complementary treatment programme.
Another part of my quest for knowledge on the holistic approach to my illness is communicating and networking. As part of this “mission”, I visited Gorgeous Hair & Beauty in Carr Lane, Hull, last week. I was amazed by the range of wigs available, prices and the brilliant service from Erika and Bani, the owners. The website address is www.gorgeoushairandbeauty.com and, from the end of July, they will be donating wigs to the HER Breast Friends and the Dove House Hospice charity wig banks.
For me, part of my battle with breast cancer is being able to present an image of looking good and well. Being able to afford to add to my range of wigs has given me a massive boost to my self- esteem and hope that passing this information on will help others.
Through meeting Erika, I discovered her partner, Glen Matsell, and his brother Wayne are taking part in a charity walk in the Sahara desert in October to raise money for the CLIC Sargent cancer charity for children and young people – a very worthy cause

What Do Anaerobic Bacteria Eat?
The waste products mentioned above are produced as anaerobic bacteria digest proteins. Therefore, anytime you eat a source of protein, the bacteria in your mouth get a meal too.
Even without an obvious source of protein, the anaerobic bacteria in your mouth can find a protein source anytime. There are many natural protein sources in your mouth, from dead skin cells to proteins found in saliva.
Conclusion
While you can’t do anything about the fact that bacteria live in your mouth, it is important to realize that the disturbed balance between anaerobic bacteria and other types is a key factor in the cause of bad breath. You should do everything you can to make the conditions of your mouth as unattractive to anaerobic bacteria as possible.
